20/20 vision is a term used to describe normal visual acuity (the clarity or sharpness of vision) measured at a distance. It is the standard used by optometrists to measure how well your eyes can see in comparison with an average person. To have 20/20 vision, you must be able to see clearly at 20 feet what should normally be seen at that distance.
Having 20/20 vision doesn’t necessarily mean that you have perfect vision, however. While it means your sight is sufficient for driving, some people who are able to pass
eye exams
and have normal visual acuity do not have perfect vision. If objects appear blurry up close, it could indicate nearsightedness or farsightedness.
Having 20/20 vision is important for many activities in life. Good eyesight helps individuals recognize and identify red lights when driving or read road signs from far away. It also helps with hand-eye coordination skills necessary for activities like sports, computer work and playing musical instruments. Those with impaired distant vision must adjust their everyday tasks to accommodate their eyesight according to their needs and capabilities.
Adults with less than satisfactory 20/20 vision may experience eyestrain which can lead to discomfort, fatigue and even headaches if left untreated. Eye doctors recommend getting annual eye exams in order to maintain optimal visual health and enjoy a comfortable lifestyle without dizziness and blurred images due to poor eyesight.
Good eyesight isn’t taken for granted anymore now that contacts and glasses are available in different varieties such as fashion frames, colored contacts lenses, lightweight lenses etc. However, if you want absolute perfection in your far-sight it’s recommended that you get LASIK surgery done at Wally’s Optical for accurate results even after years of wearing contact lenses or glasses day after day!
